Effects of Loperamide High and Related Diseases
Taking high doses of loperamide results in the exaggeration of the usual side effects that go with normal prescription doses of the drug. The possible side effects related to the consumption of loperamide range from mild to severe ones. If you experience severe effects of loperamide usage, call your doctor immediately.
Mild effects of loperamide intake include fatigue, constipation, dizziness, and drowsiness. In very rare cases, severe side effects occur, such as severe vomiting, constipation, or dizziness, abdominal pains, fainting, irregular heartbeat, and perhaps an allergic reaction. Oftentimes, there are no serious allergies to the drug. On the rare occasions it occurs, it may take the form of swelling of parts of the body (especially around the tongue and face), itching, rash, and difficulty breathing. [5]
The effects of loperamide high are similar to the symptoms obtainable from the abuse of opioids. They vary in severity from person to person and include the following: difficulty breathing (or slower breathing), fainting, severe dizziness and drowsiness, fast and irregular heartbeat, and difficulty passing urine. Loperamide abuse can also lead to constant dryness of the mouth, and a discomforting fullness of the stomach.
