Administration
Larotrectinib (Vitrakvi) is taken by mouth (orally). It comes in capsule and oral solution forms. The pill should be taken with water, with or without food. It should be taken at the specified time each day. Should you miss a dose, do not take another pill if it falls within 6 hours of your next dose. The drug should be taken twice a day. You should speak to your doctor if you need the oral solution type. Vomiting after taking a dose doesn’t imply you should take another pill. Your next scheduled dose should follow at the specified time. Make sure you’re taking the correct number of pills as prescribed by your doctor. Certain foods and drugs affect the levels of the drug in the blood, and it is important you avoid them. Such substances include rifampin, verapamil, grapefruit (or its juice), ketoconazole, phenytoin, modafinil, and St John’s wort. [5]
