Duloxetine – Uses, Side Effects, Dosage, Warnings and More

Duloxetine for Pregnant and Breastfeeding Women

Duloxetine is a category C pregnancy medication. This suggests two things:

– There have not been sufficient studies in humans to prove the effects of this medication on the fetus

– Studies in animals have suggested adverse effects on the fetus when pregnant women take duloxetine

In general, consult your healthcare provider if you want to become pregnant or are currently pregnant. For breastfeeding people, it is worth noting that duloxetine would pass into their breast milk. Therefore, your baby may be exposed to the drug and experience certain side effects. Talk with your doctor to get the best advice.  [8]
