What Is Adrenal Fatigue?

Adrenal Fatigue Versus Adrenal Insufficiency

While some doctors do not accept the diagnosis of adrenal fatigue, adrenal insufficiency is a known disease. It happens when the adrenal glands do not release cortisol and aldosterone hormone because of reduced gland function. Autoimmune damage to the adrenal cortex is a common cause. Typical signs of adrenal insufficiency include weight loss, confusion, dehydration, muscle weakness, stomach pain, loss of appetite, and chronic fatigue. In more serious cases, it may cause vomiting, nausea, depression, hyperpigmentation, low blood pressure, and diarrhea. [4]
