Terry’s Nails: Symptoms, Causes & Treatment

Signs and Symptoms of Terry’s Nails

Terry’s nails are a form of nail discoloration. The whole nailbeds typically appear washed out, meaning they are completely white. However, the strip around the tip of the nails may look brownish or reddish. Terry’s nails may have a distinct appearance that looks like the ground or frosted glass. Those with Terry’s nails do not have a lunula or half-moon shape around the cuticles. While all nails of the fingers can be affected, these symptoms can also appear on only one nail in either a finger or toe. In addition to these changes in the color and look of the nails, Terry’s nails do not cause any other symptoms that would affect overall health. [4]
