Sunburn
As is suggested by the name, sunburn is related to sun exposure. The UV lights from the sun can penetrate the deep layer of skin, causing irreversible skin damage. Sunburn often follows after a few hours of outside stay without proper protection measures. People will experience skin redness, discomfort, pain, itching, swelling, blisters, or peeling skins. Apart from these short-term symptoms, sunburn is also the primary culprit of basal cell carcinoma, melanoma, and other skin cancers. Here are some tips to help relieve sunburn symptoms:
- Do as fast as you can to cool the skin down
- Use petroleum-free or oil-free moisture to moisturize sunburned skin
- Take anti-inflammatory drugs to decrease inflammation.
- Drink plenty of water [6]
