Prognosis for Rheumatoid Nodules
Developing rheumatoid nodules, particularly at the point of diagnosis, may suggest a higher risk of systemic inflammation, which is in contrast with rheumatoid arthritis being restricted to the joints. In turn, this would make it more likely to have other conditions, such as stroke, heart attack, lung problems, kidney disease, as well as vasculitis (inflamed blood vessels). It is partly because these lumps can be identified nearly exclusively in those individuals who have positive results for rheumatoid factor in blood tests. [9]
