Inactivity
A long period of inactivity would increase the risk of developing pulmonary embolism. This is because gravity might cause blood to stagnate in some low body areas. Those people who often on long trips on cars or planes tend to be at high risk of forming clots. Similarly, being confined to your bed after surgery, trauma, or illness would make you more susceptible to this health issue. To prevent pulmonary embolism, it is advisable to work out at least 10 to 30 minutes every day. Try to relax the body after every hour of sitting at work to ensure blood can flow properly in your body. [7]
