Medications
Many medications and drugs would lead to pulmonary hypertension as their side effects. These include weight loss medications, chemotherapy, street drugs, and L-tryptophan. Some diet pills, such as phentermine and dexfenfluramine can also lead to symptoms of this condition. Even when you have taken these drugs for many years, you would still be at risk. In fact, those people who consume diet pills tend to be 20 times more likely to have pulmonary hypertension than non-users. [10]
