Plasma Cell Leukemia – Symptoms, Treatment, and More

Causes and Risk Factors for Plasma Cell Leukemia

The exact causes of multiple myeloma and plasma cell leukemia are still not fully understood. The condition is slightly more prevalent in males than in females, and much more common in black Americans than in white Americans. However, scientists do not know exactly the reasons for these differences. Genetic adjustments in the production of plasma cells would contribute to the occurrence of plasma cell leukemia. But health exerts do not understand what leads to these changes. Since this form of cancer is very rare, it can be challenging to study. Other factors, such as cell-damaging effects of aging or exposure to toxins in the environment, would play a key part as well. [4]
