Panic Attack & Panic Disorder – Symptoms & Causes

Derealization

Derealization is the feeling of detachment from the surrounding life. You might feel partially or completely disconnected from many external things in the daily environment, such as family members, objects, and more. In more severe cases when your brain functions are seriously affected, even closest friends or family members might seem like strangers. Many people with realization usually describe it as the feeling of fogginess or being spaced out. In other words, everything around seems to become distorted and unreal as in a cartoon. Make sure to visit your doctor immediately as this is often an advanced symptom of panic disorder and panic attacks. [4]
