Neck Pain – Symptoms and Causes

Whiplash

Whiplash is a form of neck injury. It occurs when there is a movement event that causes the head to be throw unexpectedly into hyperextension and then forward quickly into flexion. A vehicle accident is the most common trigger, but falls or sports injuries can also be the causes. Depending on the level of damage in your discs or joints, you can feel from mild to severe pain. It requires many methods to diagnose whiplash, typically including a physical exam, a medical history, an X-ray, and magnetic resonance imaging. [3]
