4 Causes of Meniere’s Disease
Dietary Triggers
Some foods and drinks in your daily meals would trigger the symptoms of Meniere’s disease. For instance, corn twists, tortilla, potato chips, and other fast foods are high in monosodium glutamate and salt. These substances are linked to the retention of water, which would result in differences in the fluid pressure in your inner ear and trigger the disease. A diet high in sugar and fats can also make plaque build up the inner lining of your blood vessels. Over time, it obstructs these areas around the inner ear and leads to the onset of Meniere’s disease. [7]
