Invokana – Uses, Dosage, Side Effects & More

Possible Interactions

Invokana may interact with some forms of medications. These include some antipsychotic drugs, asthma medications, blood pressure drugs, water pills for reducing high blood pressure, steroids to reduce inflammation, ritonavir for treating HIV, antibiotic rifampin, phenobarbital and phenytoin for treating seizure, digoxin for heart issues, and other diabetes medications. If your healthcare provider prescribes any of those drugs, they would make some adjustments to the dosages or watch you more carefully for proper side effects or complications. Also, make sure to inform them about any OTC medications, prescriptions, supplements, herbs, and vitamins that you are taking. Another important thing to know is that Invokana would lead to positive results for a urine test for glucose levels. Therfore, avoid taking it before the procedure.  [8]
