Other Causes
Other possible causes of hair loss in men include:
– Hormonal imbalances: When the body produces DHT from testosterone, hair loss may occur. This substance would shrink and attack hair follicles over time.
– Illness or surgery: Hair loss is not uncommon in those people who have just recovered from a serious illness or undergone surgery. However, hair growth will resume after a period of time.
– Stress: Too much stress and pressure would cause hair loss in men. Fortunately, this effect is often not permanent.
– Thyroid problems: People with hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism usually experience hair loss because the conversion to DHT is speeded up.
– Fungal infections
– Lupus
– Diabetes [3]
