Heart Conditions
Certain heart diseases may lead to blue fingernails. These include:
– Congestive heart failure: This condition results in heart issues, which make it harder for the organ to pump blood as usual. Other symptoms include swollen legs or fingers, extreme tiredness, and shortness of breath.
– Congenital heart disease: Infants may be born with abnormal blood vessels and heart. This condition would be asymptomatic or lead to fatal problems.
– Eisenmenger’s syndrome: This rare condition may affect the lungs and heart. It is typically a complication of congenital heart disease in later stages. [5]
