Nasal dilators or nasal strips are flexible and spring-like bands that can fit above the flare of your nostrils. As the name implies, they are designed to straighten the original shape and lift the sides of the nose. This can help open the nasal passages and improve congestion or breathing issues. It is an effective option to get temporary relief. However, nasal strips will not cure a deviated septum.[9]
