Less common symptoms of chlamydia include:
– A sore throat: This symptom is caused by the transmission of the bacteria in oral sex. It might also lead to pain when swallowing or exudate on your tonsils.
– Pain in the right upper abdomen: Also known as perihepatitis, this condition causes inflammation of the liver’s capsule and pain around the right upper part of your abdomen.
– Reactive arthritis: It is not triggered by the infection but by a post-inflammatory process that causes the body to produce antibodies against healthy cells. Some joints, urethra, and eyes can be affected. [2]
