Some steroid creams can be effective in alleviating inflammation and itching during a flare-up. Anti-inflammatory or antihistamine drugs can be prescribed as well. You can also try some simple home remedies or lifestyle changes, such as keeping the skin clean, moisturized well, reducing shower or bath time, and avoiding skincare products or laundry detergent with dyes and scents.
