Sleep Disorders
While insomnia is a sleep disorder, it could be caused by other sleep issues. For example, restless leg syndrome could disturb your sleep as it causes a crawling sensation in your lower leg. Sleep apnea is another trigger as it causes changes in breathing patterns and leads to a lack of oxygen during sleep. Some neurological diseases such as stroke, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s can also have the same effects because of changes in your brain and chemicals that affect your sleep. [5]
