Lesions
Another common symptom of herpes is the appearance of lesions. They look quite similar to a cluster of a few red sores on the affected areas. HSV-1 units would show up inside or on the mouth, while HSV-2 spots would be found on the perineum, rectum, buttocks, or thighs. In women, they can also present on the cervix, vaginal entrance, labia, and vulva. When touched, they can be painful with some itching and burning sensations in the first few hours. [2]
