10 Causes of Dementia

Huntington’s Disease

Huntington’s disease is a rare genetic condition that would cause dementia. It can be categorized into two types, including adult and juvenile-onset. The latter form is much rarer and leads to symptoms in adolescence or childhood. The adult type often causes initial symptoms when the patients reach their 30s to 40s. This disease is characterized by premature damage of nerve cells in the brain. These changes gradually result in impaired movements and dementia. Some other possible symptoms include difficulty swallowing, trouble walking, jerking, and some impulse control issues. [2]
