Overview of Medicare Part C

Medicare Part C, also known as Medicare Advantage, is an insurance plan for those who qualify for Medicare. It is typically offered by private insurance companies. In general, Part C includes all basic services coved by Original Medicare, including Part A and Part B. These include hospital stays, inpatient rehab, hospice, limited home healthcare, preventive care, emergency ambulance transportation, mental health services, medical equipment, lab tests, or doctor’s visits. In addition, Medicare Part C provides coverage for additional services, such as hearing, vision, dental care, home meal delivery, transportation to appointments, gym memberships, and prescription medications.
