Distorted Test Results
In some cases, high vitamin B12 levels can be the distorted results from a test. While the procedures and standards can vary between different labs, results are often false when you have a very high number of IF or intrinsic factor antibodies in your blood. This makes the test result extremely high, though the exact levels in the body are still normal. To determine whether a mistake is made, a test for intrinsic factor antibodies like urine tests or homocysteine can be taken. [3]
