Other Causes
Studies have suggested that systemic health issues would be major risk factors for dysgeusia. Autoimmune illnesses, a dry mouth, or a deficiency of zinc can change your taste temporarily or permanently. Other possible causes include menopause, pregnancy, aging, and many other physiological changes. Head injuries and some surgical procedures in the throat, nose, or ear would lead to taste disorders as well. Last but not least, dental problems like wisdom tooth extraction or poor oral hygiene can be the cause. [6]
