Causes of Dysgeusia
Medications
Many medications can trigger dysgeusia. These include chemotherapeutic drugs, muscle relaxants, antihypertensives, antibiotics, thyroid medications, and antidepressants. The most taste issue that many people report after taking these drugs is a metallic sensation. Keep in mind that if you take a drug that would have taste distortion as a side effect, it does not necessarily mean that you would have dysgeusia. The condition might occur after several dosages or happen unexpectedly after several years. [3]
