What Happens At the Emergency Room?
If you have to go to the hospital due to an overdose of birth control pills, your doctor would:
– Ask certain questions about the medication and dosage you took
– Take blood and/or urine test
– Examine your blood pressure, pulse, and other important signs
– Monitor the symptoms, such as vomiting or nausea
In some cases, activated charcoal can be used to prevent the absorption of birth control pills in the body. In addition, they would need to check your mental health as some people intentionally take more birth control pills to commit suicide or due to mental issues. [5]
