Symptoms of Low Estrogen
Low estrogen levels often occur in pre-puberty girls and women who approach menopause. However, female individuals of all age groups might be affected. Typical signs include a thinning of the urethra that would cause urinary tract infections, a lack of vaginal lubrication that causes pain during sex, mood swings, absent or irregular periods, breast tenderness, hot flashes, depression, migraines, headaches, fatigue, or trouble concentrating. Bones may break or fracture more easily because of lower bone density. Estrogen plays an important role in keeping bone strong, along with vitamin D, calcium, and other minerals. If left untreated, low levels of estrogen could even result in infertility in women. [6]
