Heat and Cold Therapy
Both heat and cold therapy can help people with tailbone bone. Studies have suggested that applying a heating pad to the affected area would help reduce pain and discomfort. Try using it up to four times a day with 15 to 20 minutes per time. You can also try a hot bath or a warm compress as an alternative. For ice therapy, simply put an ice pack or ice wrapped by a towel on the tailbone for 5 to 10 minutes per time. This would cause the blood vessels to constrict, thus alleviating inflammation and pain. Avoid putting raw ices on the skin as it would lead to irritation or frostbite. [7]
