Rapid Aging After Hysterectomy: Is There A Connection?

1What Is Hysterectomy?

A hysterectomy is a surgical procedure for adult women. During this surgery, the uterus will be separated from the tissues and ligaments that keep it in place. Eventually, this organ will be removed. Depending on the purpose, other surrounding organs can be removed as well, such as the ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix, and part of the vagina. A hysterectomy is typically down when people have uterine fibroids, endometriosis, abnormal bleeding, gynecologic cancer, or chronic pelvic pain. While it is rare, this surgery can be done in emergency cases to deal with complications associated with childbirth. [1]
