Pulmonary Angiography
When a V/Q scan or a CT angio scan is not enough to confirm the presence of a pulmonary embolism, then your doctor would suggest a pulmonary angiography. This is a more invasive test that involves the inserting of a catheter through the femoral vein. It is guided up to the blood vessels in the lungs to spread contrast material. After that, an X-ray will be done to find out the distribution of the element with the aim of finding a pattern.
