Medications
Make sure to be very careful about which drugs you take. Some medicines, both OTC and prescription, would trigger or worsen the symptoms of long QT syndrome. They can bring some side effects that affect the rhythms and rates of your heartbeat. These include antibiotics, decongestants, appetite suppressants, diuretics, antipsychotics, antidepressants, antihistamines, or heart medications. However, keep in mind that drug-induced long QT syndrome often occurs in those people with a family history of the condition. Consuming some illegal drugs, such as amphetamines, and cocaine can also increase the risk of this condition in many people. [7]
