Take Supplements
Certain supplements can help lower the A1C level, such as chromium and aloe vera. A recent study has shown that aloe vera is a succulent, meaning that it would affect how the body absorb carbohydrates, thus reducing A1C levels by about 1 percent. Similarly, scientists have found that chromium, a mineral in oysters and many veggies like mushrooms or potatoes, can reduce A1C levels by more than 0.5 percent, especially in those with type 2 diabetes. Make sure to discuss with your healthcare provider before taking these supplements to avoid possible interactions with other medications or drugs that you are taking for diabetes treatment. [5]
