Associated Conditions
There are lots of other condition which are mostly associated with fibromyalgia. Usually, they are rheumatic conditions that primarily affect the muscles, joints, and bones, which are:
Rheumatoid arthritis – this condition is as a result of the body immune system being tricked to attack the joint’s healthy cells resulting in swelling and pain.
Osteoarthritis – this happens due to damaged joints leading to stiffness and pain.
Lupus – when the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks the tissues and healthy cells in multiple parts of the body.
Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) – another health condition attributed to pain in the ears, cheeks, jaw, and temples.
Ankylosing spondylitis – a condition that can cause swelling in some part of the spinal column and accompanied by pain.
During diagnose for fibromyalgia, these conditions mentioned above are mostly tested for. [6]
