A Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary or SLMB program is sponsored by a state to provide financial support in paying premiums for Medicare Part B. It can help individuals to save at least $1,700 per year and reduce the overall healthcare expenses. To be eligible, you or your wife/husband must have limited resources and income. If you qualify for an SLMB program, you would be automatically eligible for Extra Help, an additional program that can help you cover the costs for prescription medications through Medicare.
