Possible Interactions
Humira would interact with some medications, herbs, supplements, or vaccines, and reduce or increase the effects of the treatments. These include:
– Echinacea: This OTC supplement would reduce the desired effects of Humira
– Live vaccines: Taking Humira would affect the performance and increase the possible side effects of some live vaccines, such as intranasal flu vaccine, rotavirus, varicella, and MMR. You should wait at least 3 months after an injection of Humira before getting any of these vaccines.
– Avara: This condition is used for treating rheumatoid arthritis. Taking it with Humira would increase some side effects and lead to certain complications, such as low levels of platelets, a lack of white blood cells, as well as low blood count. [8]
