Shortness of Breath
Hemoglobin in the blood allows red blood cells to carry nutrients and oxygen around the body. Hemolytic anemia leads to lower levels of this element. As a result, oxygen levels become low as well. This affects the functioning of muscles and other organs, which makes it hard to do normal tasks at home or work. Due to a lack of oxygen, the breathing rate will be higher to compensate for the deficiency. That’s why a common sign of hemolytic anemia is shortness of breath. So, if you find out of breath when working out, climbing stairs, or walking around, then anemia may be a possible cause. [2]
