Behavioral Triggers
People with obsessive-compulsive disorder might associate some situations or items with fear. Thus, they tend to avoid these things or learn how to do some special tasks to alleviate the fear. This avoidance or fear would start during a period of increased stress and pressure, such as after a breakup or when starting their new job. Once the link between the fear and the object has been created, they will avoid these triggers instead of tolerating or confronting them. [8]
