Where Does Metastatic Breast Cancer Spread?
Metastatic breast cancer may spread to many parts of the body. The most commonly affected sites and associated symptoms may include:
– Brain: memory issues, vision or speech changes, or headache
– Liver: there are typically no symptoms. If yes, these may include fever, reduced appetite, weight loss, weakness, fatigue, and pain in the middle of the body
– Bone: a sudden pain around the long bones in the legs or arms, pelvis, spine, or ribs
– Lung
Lung Metastasis: When breast cancer moves into the lung, it often doesn’t cause symptoms. If a lung metastasis does cause symptoms, they may include pain or discomfort in the lung, shortness of breath, and persistent cough. [3]
