In addition to these diagnostic techniques mentioned above, there are many other methods to check for asthma symptoms. For instance, the methacholine challenge can be used to know if you are suffering from this condition by using an asthma trigger. Another option is the nitric oxide test. It determines the amount of nitric oxide in the breath, which tends to be higher in people with asthma. Imaging tests such as CT or X-rays can also be helpful in identifying possible infections or structural abnormalities in the body. Some other tests include provocative testing, sputum eosinophils, and allergy testing. [4]
