Pansexuality – What It Means?

Diagnostic and Statistical Manual and Pansexuality

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders is a handbook widely used by many mental health experts. It includes all mental health issues for both children and adults. In recent years, gender identity and homosexuality have been added. In 2013, the term “gender dysphoria” was used for a gender identity disorder. A diagnosis of gender dysphoria is still controversial. Proponents claim that it can help doctors support those who are not comfortable with their gender assigned at birth. On the other hands, other believe that the inclusion of this section may lead to the stigmatization of nonbinary and transgender people, including pansexual individuals. [4]
