What Is Lactic Acid?
Lactic acid is a substance produced by the body from glucose. Working muscles basically convert glycogen and glucose into lactic acid, which is subsequently used for fueling muscle cells. However, when you work out excessively, the body might build up too much lactic acid than needed. This leads to sore and painful muscles. Fortunately, the condition is only temporary and is not a cause for lots of concern. [1]
