Types of Tibia Fracture
In general, tibia fracture can be divided into the following types:
– Displaced fracture: A break in the tibia bone moves part of this bone and causes a slight misalignment. A surgical procedure is necessary to treat this type of tibia fracture and realign these parts.
– Stable fracture or non-displaced fracture: A break in the tibia bone does not affect other parts.
– Spiral fracture: A break in the tibia bone is caused by a twisted motion. This leads to a spiral-shaped fracture.
– Stress fracture or hairline fracture: This type causes thin and small breaks in the tibia bone. It is often caused by overuse injuries.
