Cognitive Symptoms
Due to the effects on the brain, the post-concussion syndrome can be characterized by many cognitive symptoms. Persistent headaches or vision issues can make it difficult to concentrate on daily tasks. In addition, brain fog or memory loss might happen. This would be set off by brain bruising linked to the brain injury triggering the concussion. Another sign is slowed or delayed thinking, which is quite common in other head injuries. All of these cognitive signs can start occurring after a few months since the occurrence of the concussion. [3]
