Signs and symptoms of IBS and PCOS can vary a lot. Common symptoms of PCOS include acne, irregular periods, large ovaries, ovarian cysts, excess hair in the body or face, thinning hair, oily skin, unexpected weight gain, difficulty getting pregnant, thick skin areas, and skin darkening. Typical signs of IBS include bloating, constipation, diarrhea, bowel changes, abdominal pain, abdominal cramping, whitish mucus in stools, and the feeling that you have not completed passing stool.
